About me
Alex Siegers is a dynamic powerhouse in the worlds of a cappella and jazz, blending artistry with her boundless energy. Thoughout her career she has amassed considerable experience as a performer and educator in jazz, classical and pop with leading musicians throughout Australia and around the world.
Alex has performed and recorded with musicians including Felix Riebl, Julia Jacklin, Alex The Astronaut, Gian Slater, Paul Grabowsky and as a jazz vocalist and looping artist in her own right. She has graced stages at Sydney Opera House, Deakin Edge, and Melbourne Recital Centre for events and festivals including Singing At The House; AusAca; Get Vocal Festival; Beams Arts Festival; Light The Night; and All About Women.
Alex performs as an ensemble member and soloist with many of Australia's premiere musical organisastions, including The Song Company, The Choir of St James' King St, The Choir of St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney Chamber Choir, Luminescence Chamber Singers, Cantillation, and The Australian Voices.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, Alex has begun as alto with the Choir of St. James-in-the-City Episocal Church, has performed as soloist with Laguna Beach Chamber Singers, and has appeared in Disney x CAMP's production of The Little Mermaid.
As an educator, Alex has worked as a Sessional Academic at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music since 2019, with the Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, and New Music Ensemble. Over the last decade she has to directed ensembles at Sydney's top high school music programs and The Arts Unit's Popular Music camps.
A longtime advocate for vocal music, Alex has been a Nominator and Judge for the Contemporary A Cappella Awards since 2017. She was National Coordinator for Vocal Australia (2012–2018), and continues to volunteer. Alex serves as Treasurer for the Australian National Choral Association NSW/ACT (2023–present) and is an active member of the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing.
In 2017 she graduated from a Bachelor of Music and Arts, majoring in Jazz Performance, Asian Studies and Linguistics at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She completed an appended Honours in 2023, graduating First Class.
